The Diocesan Education Office updates the official Scholarship Application early in the calendar year. For the latest information, please visit the Catholic Schools web site.
Families with a child (or children) planning to attend a Catholic school in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown are eligible to apply. Initial state eligibility is set at $50,000 annual income per family, with each eligible school-aged child increasing this income ceiling by $10,000. Applicants are not guaranteed to receive a grant.
A correct and completed application, including family tax return information and a non-refundable fee per family, must be mailed to Private School Aid Service (PSAS) of Cleveland, Ohio, by the appropriate application deadline. Confidentiality is guaranteed by using PSAS. The application fee covers PSAS grant management services. Neither the Second Century Fund nor the Diocese receives any portion of this fee.
The Diocesan Education Office will notify families receiving grants by mail, with instructions for an acceptance deadline. Scholarships are made directly to the schools and will be credited to the students’ accounts for use in the applicable school year.
