Welcome to the official web site of the Second Century Scholarship Fund!

We provide tuition assistance to students who are enrolled in a Catholic pre-school, elementary school or high school located in the counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clinton and Somerset - all within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. Parents or guardians may access the official scholarship application.

Our Catholic schools provide strong academic & community values grounded in faith, and challenge students to achieve their potential with greater results. Their mission is to educate the mind, heart, body and soul of each student as they journey through their formative years.

Since 2001, the fund has awarded 2,000+ scholarships with a value exceeding $4 million as a result of the remarkable contributions made by businesses participating in the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program and the Pre-Kindergarten Tax Credit Program. We are an official .Scholarship Organization. of the DCED-administered EITC/PKTC program.

In the 2008-09 fiscal year alone, we received and distributed $1 million dollars for the first time in the history of our existence. We salute all of our business friends whose care and concern have made a Catholic education affordable for many families who would not be able to provide a faith-based education to their children otherwise.

As a non-profit 501(c)(3), we also welcome charitable gifts from individuals and families who are believe in the value of Catholic Education.
