Welcome to the official web site of the Second Century Scholarship Fund!
The fund supports students with financial need who are enrolled in a Catholic pre-school, elementary school or high school within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. Eligible students need not be of the Catholic faith to receive Second Century scholarships.
Since 2001, the fund has received more than $3,000,000 in contributions from businesses participating in the PA Commonwealth’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program and the Pre-Kindergarten Tax Credit Program.
As an official “Scholarship Organization” of the DCED-administered program, the Second Century Scholarship Fund provides financial support to students enrolled in our schools located in the counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clinton and Somerset. This aid makes a Catholic education affordable for many families who would not be able to provide a faith-based education to their children otherwise.
As a non-profit 501(c)(3), we also welcome charitable gifts from individuals and families who are believe in the value of Catholic Education.
